Back to work in Garda

After spending two months in the south, in Vilamoura and Palma, our boats were driven back to Germany. The 3000km journey was a story of its own, with our car struggling to pull the trailer and us having to stop in 100km intervals, but we eventually arrived in Munich. From there on our spearing partners Krauss Suemmchen took the trailer to lake Garda where we started training two weeks after.

In Garda we decided to switch it up a little and work together with new coaches. This helped us generate new views on the boat and fueled our learnings. On our first block we booked a sailmaker and coach who helped us a lot with trimming and making the boat fast, using the Vakaros GPS compasses. On our second block Amal unfortunately had to resign due to an event in uni, but Leander joined the Trainingsmethoden the coach boat and could gather a lot of knowledge from our Italian coach who had sailed an Olympic 49er campaign himself.

All in all we managed to complete our goal of setting a base to our speed and maneuvers in pressure at the beginning of the season and are planning to work on the details from now on. The Garda conditions greeted us perfectly with wind and flat water, ideal for handling basics.
