European Championship

The Europeans in Vilamoura are now over. For us it was a challenging week full of ups and downs. We had trained on the Atlantic waters for three days leading up to the competition, but again and again light winds and shifty conditions made it difficult to perform.

During the beginning phase we were quite satisfied with our performance, sailing a 10th place and competing with top teams speed wise. Nethertheless we struggled continuously with certain aspects such as the starts and downwind positioning. We are not happy with our result, but at least we know what to work on and how we can fight back. We are looking forward to push and give it our all during winter and come back stronger during next year’s competitions. For now we will continue training in Vilamoura and sail the Portugal GP (Grand Prix) 1 here in a month.
