Training instead of nationals

Due to a low participation, the German championships in the 49er classes were canceled. Therefore we decided to train at Müggelsee (Berlin) during the three days. We were trained by Thomas, the skiff coach of the Berlin sailing association. The conditions were great but gusty and we worked a lot on maneuvers and lay lines during these conditions. Furthermore we practiced a lot of starts during the days, as we were preparing for the European championships in Hungary. After sailing, we discussed theory, worked on our boat and evaluated the video footage. We felt like we had improved our handling and therefore our self-assurance a lot over the weekend. Now we feel ready for the championships at lake Balaton and are looking forward to comparing ourselves with others for the first time.
