Success at the Europeans

Thanks to our intensive training at Lake Garda before the competition started, we felt quite ready to deliver satisfactory results, and we did. The 200 competing teams were divided into four fleets each consisting of 50 boats. In the majority of the races we managed to sail under the top 20 but in a couple of races we even managed to sail top ten results. Obviously this was a great experience and in a race where we finished on place four, we got to know how it feels to sail at the very top. Unfortunately a second race in which we finished fourth we were disqualified do to an early start. This lead to us slightly missing the gold fleet and finishing the competition on place 74.

Nevertheless we had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience and get a great overview of where we are standing in terms of results. Our greatest issue remains to be the struggle to sail consistently and prevent small mistakes such as starting too early. This leads us to our training plan for winter and we are looking forward to working on it in Barcelona.
