Pre-Europeans training
Our very first effective training camp was the one at Lake Garda the week before the European Championships. We have not been sailing together for long so this time we spent on the water was very important to improve how we work together as a team. But we did not only have fun on but also with the water. Everything around sailing was great as well and established a connection between us through shared memories.
On one of the two lay days we went cliff jumping which we had also done the previous years, whenever there was no wind. The crystal clear water allowed for great footage and an impressive experience. On the other lay day we went for a hike in the mountains and had a incredible view on the lake and Riva. Lay days are always important not only to keep up the good training spirit, but to level out the energy needed for sailing during training and the competition.
All in all our experience at Lake Garda in a week of training was more than good, and we were able to work on our internal issues as a team very well. The waters in the Italian mountains always allow for great sailing conditions and perfect training. If you want to get a better insight into how we train, make sure to check out our YouTube channel. We are looking forward to competing in the European Championships and continue training in winter.
